This Saturday, March 7th, New Orleans will join cities and towns around the country to say No War on Iran! 🗓️ SATURDAY, 3/7 ⏰ 4:30PM 📍 CONGO SQUARE Hundreds have already been killed by the U.S. and Israel’s war on Iran—including over 100 children as they sat in their elementary school. The people of the U.S. overwhelmingly oppose the war, but that opposition needs to be expressed in the streets so it is impossible to ignore.

A parking lot in the French Quarter is being converted into a hotel. This is the kind of development we need to see across the French Quarter — a future where the French Quarter serves people, not parking lots. An eight-story parking garage on Iberville Street — between Bourbon and Royal — is set to be transformed into a boutique hotel with a rooftop pool, speakeasy, golf simulators, and apartment-style suites designed for group travelers.

Ride with the resistance! Every last Friday of the month Critical Mass Nola takes to the streets declaring our right to the road. Currently our streets are planned for the profit of the fossil fuel and auto industries. We want our streets to be public and made accessible to all road users: pedestrians, bicyclists, and a robust and reliable public transit system.

Since Carnival season began on Twelfth Night, at least 686 Palestinians have been martyred by “Israel.” The IOF also continues to bomb Syria and Lebanon while the Knesset voted to formally annex the West Bank. This Mardi Gras, NOSHIP holds memories of those Palestinians martyred this season in the forefront of our hearts and minds. The Anti War Action Network (of which NOSHIP is a part) called for a week of action for Palestinian solidarity.

Every year we ask for more restrictions on car traffic on the Quarter during Mardi Gras and every year we continue to have to witness potentially dangerous situations due to lack of restrictions. This year, we were very happy to see more streets close to car traffic in the Quarter and Frenchmen, even during the daytime. It was great to witness people being able to enjoy the magic of Mardi Gras without cars in the way.

Critical Mass NOLA proudly endorses the @chevron_out bicycle ride to Plaquemines Parish as part of the growing struggle for environmental justice and working-class self-determination. For generations, the people of Plaquemines Parish have borne the environmental and economic consequences of oil extraction, while corporations like Chevron extracted immense profits.
