Speed kills.One year after Amsterdam introduced the 30 km/h speed limit on most city roads (GOW30), the first results are in: - Crashes on these roads dropped by 11% - Road noise is down by 1.5 decibels - Most drivers now respect the new limit, with serious speeding (over 55 km/h) dropping from 1% to 0.2% This shows that a simple change can make a significant difference for road safety and quality of life.
